my favourite flowers

hello my lovelies!

i am back with another collaboration! this time, however, it is with the fabulous jasper over at! i have been obsessed with her blog for quite a while now and i am very happy that i have had the chance to collaborate with her <3! if you have not yet visited jasper’s blog, she shares snaps from her travels, unique lookbooks and much, much more. we decided that we would share our favourite flowers with you all :)! with that said, let me begin…

+ red roses +

“the rose is a flower of love. the world has acclaimed it for centuries. pink roses are for love hopeful and expectant. white roses are for love dead or forsaken, but the red roses, ah the red roses are for love triumphant ~ unknown.”

what’s not to love about these beauties? they are absolutely gorgeous and oh, so classy. this quote truly explains the beauty of red roses which is why it is one of my favourites <3! all roses are wonderful, however, red roses are just so striking and they instantly catch my eye. some may refer to roses as cliché but i would say that they are classic!FlowerBarrier+ sunflowers +

“despite knowing they won’t be here for long they still choose to live their brightest lives – sunflowers ~ rupi kaur.”

bright, beautiful and bold. these flowers are just wonderful ! it is very hard not to feel happy when looking at them! this quote seems to portray sunflowers as role models for us and i strongly agree with it. come and join me, let’s listen to the sunflowers together :)!FlowerBarrier+ lilies +

“o lovely lily clean, o lily springing green, o lily bursting white, dear lily of delight, spring in my heart again that i may flower to men ~ john masefield.”

to me, lilies represent purity and simplicity yet they are still beautiful blossoms! this quote is just wonderful. every time i read it, images of beautiful meadows come to mind! what more can i say?FlowerBarrier+ peonies +

this morning the green fists of the peonies are getting ready to break my heart as the sun rises, as the sun strokes them with his old, buttery fingers. and they open — pools of lace, white and pink — and all day the black ants climb over them ~ mary oliver”

“do you also hurry, half-dressed and barefoot, into the garden, and softly, and exclaiming of their dearness, fill your arms with the white and pink flowers, with their honeyed heaviness, their lush trembling, their eagerness to be wild and perfect for a moment, before they are nothing, forever? ~ mary oliver”

aren’t they just gorgeous? peonies are beautiful flowers that i always associate with modesty and beauty <3! these were two stanzas from the same poem written by mary oliver. i chose to add these in since they stood out too me and were just too beautiful to leave out.
